It seems like Qualcomm’s battle with Apple has taken almost everything that Qualcomm had! The company has faced a 90% drop in its profits and that’s mainly due to the legal confrontation it was having with Apple. The figures show an 89.7 percent fall to be exact and that sums up to a $778 million fine from Taiwanese regulators.
$168 Million Income in Q4 for Qualcomm
The figure clearly shows what Qualcomm has been through, Alas! The Q4 earnings were posted by Qualcomm and this figure is actually down $1.6 billion in 2016 which was $5.91 billion back then.
Qualcomm and Apple were having a serious legal confrontation for quite a long time and Qualcomm is definitely on the losing side. The chip-makers even demanded a ban on Apple’s products but it’s very obvious that who was right and who was wrong. Now it seems like Qualcomm doesn’t want to drag it more but things wouldn’t stop here.
A Common Thing To Be Noted
Forget about Apple, many of the other big smartphone brands have ditched Qualcomm for Intel and MediaTek. Apple also wants to follow them and this shows that Qualcomm’s future plans of conquering the 7nm world wouldn’t turn true.
