PTV Bans Two Female Anchors Over Sexual Harassment Alleglation


Pakistan Television (PTV)   has issue a ban notification for two of its female anchors .

PTV management claim that the anchor defamed the organization by taking the matter of alleged ‘harassment’ on social media and talk shows .

The female anchors Yashfeen Jamal and Tanzeela Mazhar complained against a male employee, Agha Masood Shorish . Both anchor claimed that Agha Masood made alleged sexual advances towards them.


While discussing the issue on social media site PTV official warn the female anchor to remove the comment from social media.

PTV management stating that : ‘certain’ PTV employees were using social media to comment on matters that were currently being inquired into officially ,On January 20 .

“Such comments must be removed or deleted within 24 hours of issuance of the circular, failing which strict disciplinary action will be taken,”


According to Mazhar, she was harassed by Masood, and after filing the complaint the inquiry committee told me that she should have left the job .

However the two anchors ignore the warning by the management and they continue to discuss the matter on local news channels.


A notice was issued by PTVs Current Affairs Controller  Habibur Rehman on Monday stating that both anchors are banned from the channel immediately
