Prime Minister of Pakistan has now confirmed 4G auction for $295 Million.


Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif approved a policy of unsold NGMS spectrum with a price of $295 million. 

 Prime Minister of Pakistan is also the Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication issued the policy of unsold NGMS spectrum auction. He also issued a policy to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA). According to the policy, the auction will be within the financial year 2016-2017.

Federal Government issued for the next generation Mobile service in Pakistan. The conducted was held in April 2014, 30 MHz paired spectrum in 1.9/2.1 GHz, 20 MHz paired spectrum in 1.8 GHz band and 7.38 MHz paired spectrum in 850 MHz. The paired spectrum of 30 MHz in 1.9/2.1 GHz and the paired spectrum in 1.8 GHz band in 10 MHz was sold in auction. But the 1.8 GHz and 850 MHz unsold remained.

According to the auction, the broadband service 3G and 4G grow with the subscriber base that increased from 3 percent to 17 percent at the end of 1D 2016. 10 MHz paired spectrum auctioned by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority(PTA) in June 2016.

The growth of the mobile broadband user services is continuously increased. As compared to January 2017, 38 million mobile broadband subscribers adding millions of more subscribers. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif constituted advisory of policy auction of spectrum. The spectrum price analysing by market developments. They also recommended the auction of 10 MHz paired spectrum in 1800 MHz.
