Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) launched first internet exchange point in Pakistan on Friday.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) first internet exchange point inaugurated caremony held at Commission’s Secretariat.
State minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rehman also attend the ceremony as a chief guest. HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, PTA Chairman Dr Ismail Shah and Dr HEC Executive Director Arshad Ali also attend the ceremony.
Anusha Rehman said, Steps being taken under the telecommunication policy will take Pakistan to its ultimate destination of leading the world as a key player in IT. Anusha congratulated PTA on ceremony of Pakistan’s first internet exhange point.
Miniter Anusha Rehman also said that pricvate and public must remove impediments in the way of internet.
Pakistan provided to establish the internet exchange points. Exchange point for all local servers. This network allow to connect directly.
This exchange internet point enable for exchanging local internet traffic with the outside world. Pakistan’s seven internet communication become first internet exchange point.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed chairman of HEC said, Minister of IT and PTA work together and get benefits if technologies and also briefed that 29th south Asian network group work together at HEC.
Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said, HEC is dedicatedly playing its part to facilitate the higher education institutions with ICT services aiming at the country’s socio-economic development
