Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) gave approval to Catterpillar to launch its smartphone in Pakistan.


Caterpillar received the green signal from Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA). Cat brand will launch its smartphone in Pakistan soon.

A few days ago, Pakistan telecommunication authority (PTA) gave the approval to the Caterpillar company phone CAT S60 to launch in Pakistan. S60 coming to Pakistan very soon. It is the green signal for all the smartphone companies in Pakistan.

They made the first thermal imaging phone, the new smartphone comes with  4.7 inches HD (720 x 1280 pixels):~312 ppi pixel density, a-Si AHVA capacitive touchscreen. Moreover, the screen of the Cat S60 is protected by Corning®Gorilla® Glass 4 protection.

According to the memory of S60, 32 GB internal storage memory, 3GB RAM, octa-core Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617. People can also extend their smartphone’s internal memory with microSD card up to 128 GB.

The smartphone will runs on android version 6.0 (Marshmallow). But they can not mention that the smartphone will upgrade or not. The amazing thing is smartphone comes with 3800 powerful non-removable Lithium-Ion battery. Expected that, it will give 30 hours battery timing. It also supports 2.0 Quick charger.

CAT S60 is the first thermal imaging technology smartphone in the world. According to its camera, 13 Megapixel back camera with autofocus and FLIR Thermal Camera and 5 Megapixel front camera.

Here are some other features,

  • Waterproof- the phone is waterproof up to 5M depth
  • Military Standards MIL-STD 810G & IP68 and is drop-proof to 1.8M.

The cost of new smartphone S60 around Rs. 85,000. But they did not announce the releasing date of CAT S60. So wait for the official announcement of releasing date.
