Pakistan government going for auction of 4G Spectrum for $300 Million in May.


Next Gen-Mobile Services (NGMS) is ready to auction 4G spectrum and Pakistan Government has decided to auction of the last paired of spectrum 4G for $300 million in May.

The Government do not announce officially but expected the price of 10 Mhz block around $300 million. The Advisory Committee ready for the auction last paired off 10 MHz in 1800 Mhz. The price of the 10 MHz is around $300 million.

Nawaz Sharif, The Prime Minister of Pakistan and in-charge of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication(MoITT), may issue the policy directive for auction.

Pakistan Government has also decided that they will auction off the block of 10 MHz in 1800 MHz, without dividing into 2 pieces. Its is last spectrum available. Expected that, the process of an auction will be completed in May 2017.

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif for 4G spectrum which is headed by  Minster of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Ms. Anusha Rahman while, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Executive Director Frequency Allocation Board (FAB), Special Assistants to PM for Law, Secretary IT, Secretary Finance, Secretary Law, Member Telecom, Muddasir Hussain, has also been appointed as Committee Secretary

Last Thursday, Advisory committee met for the unsold 4G spectrum of Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) to take a final decision for the spectrum 10 MHz in 1800 MHz auction. They met on 16th March 2017 for the final decision. But the price of 4G spectrum is still not confirmed by the government. But expected that the block price is around $300 million.
