MoITT: Pakistan would be the first south Asian country to test 5G service.


Pakistan country would be the first South Asian Country to test 5G fastest internet connectivity in the country.

The Minster of Information Technology and Telecom (MoITT), Anusha Rehman added that Pakistan country will test the 5G fastest internet connectivity. Pakistan would be the first country to test 5G cellular services in South Asian countries.

5G internet networking is the 5th generation network for Pakistan. The 5G will be the fastest internet in Pakistan. The fifth generation connectivity’s range from gigabits to tens of gigabits.

The minister of Information Technology and Telecom, Anusha Rehman stated that,

Pakistan recently won the GSMA award and ranked third in the list of mobile telecom operator groups. The government was working on a project to provide at least one mobile tower per 100 users in every village by 2030.

Anusha Rehman also added that, in the next couple of years, the rural areas of Pakistan would be covered with 3G services and broadband penetration increased from 3% to 27% in two years in Pakistan.

RCCI President, Raja Amer Iqbal stated that,

We are working towards making a digital Pakistan. Digital economy through IT, freelance, start-ups, e-commerce and Mobile apps are the future.

He further added that The Information and Communication Technology(ICT) has a $3 billion market shares in Pakistan. But they did not take a step to establish in the country. The RCCI, MoITT, PSEB, IT Committee, CEOs of leading IT and Telecom Companies, Government officials was also attended the award ceremony in Rawalpindi.
