For the First Time Tokyo 2020 Olympic Old Cell Phones becomes Gold Medals.


Tokyo 2020 Olympics, they have announced on Wednesday Japanese public donate the old smartphones to create gold medals and silver medals. They trying to collect 8 tonnes of old devices and cell phones.


Director of Tokyo 2020 Koji Murofushi said,

A project that allows the people of Japan to take part in creating the medals is really good.

Japan starting collecting of old smartphones and ending when enough old devices are donated. 2400 collection boxes will available at cellphone stores. According to the Organisers, they will need 5,000 gold medals that will required 8 tonnes of devices material. They are also said that 100 percent of medals will make from recycled material.
