The prime minister had announced a cash reward and extension of a tax holiday on IT exports till 2025, the reduction in sales tax is to 5% in Islamabad Capital of Pakistan.
The minister said after the approval of the policy;
;Digital policy of pakistan will serve as a catalyst towards a holistic Digital ecosystem in the country with advanced concepts and components for the rapid delivery of next generation digital services and applications and content ;
Anusha Rhman Khan (Fedarl Minister for IT) said last week that ;“A lot more work needs to be done to keep up with technology, including amendments in rules of business, framework and laws to take full benefits of technology for development and growth;
The minister of IT Anusha Rehman khan further explained that this policy document along with other initiatives also focus on youth, women and girls. There are several measures that will ensure equal access to ICTs for women and girls which will help to reduce the digital divide and support gender equality to promote economic growth in country.
Moreover the DIGITAL POLICY OF PAKISTAN will also provide a basic framework to establish incubation centers in Pakistan to increse technology startups so that they can more efficiently work on global trends like IoT, AI, and robotics etc. The PM has also directed MoITT to formulate a strategy to align the “Action Plan” for this newly devised policy. This action plan will set key indicators for monitoring, evaluating and implementing the first ever digital policy of Pakistan.
