94 years old man John Goodenough made ‘Lithium-ion battery’ with solid-state and fast charging battery.

John Goodenough, he is 94 years old man led a team of engineers and professor at The University of Texas at Austin. 94 years old man made ‘Lithium-ion battery‘ solid state battery cells. It will be safer and faster- charging than other batteries.

Lithium-ion battery, it is non-combustible battery and also has longer battery timing to users. Li-ion battery is more powerful than normal batteries. They are also built in battery liquid electrolytes, it works to transport ions on the battery between negative and positive sides. Li-ion charges quickly and give longer battery life.

Recently in the case of Samsung Note 7 got fire, the engineers replaced the liquid electrolyte with the glass and avoid the risk of fire. The battery design for the handheld mobile phones, electric cars, and all other energy storage systems. The battery is more safe, faster charging, longer life of battery and fast recharge.

Li-ion is the first solid-state battery cell, it will work under 60-degree celsius. The solid-glass electrolytes work at –20 degree Celsius and that type of batteries could work at high conductivity and perform well in Subzero weather in the car.

According to the Goodenough,

Cost, safety, energy density, rates of charge and discharge and cycle life are critical for battery-driven cars to be more widely adopted. We believe our discovery solves many of the problems that are inherent in today’s batteries.
